Chelsea triumph over Man City to reach FA Cup finals

Chelsea registered a 1-0 victory over league leaders Manchester City at the FA Cup semifinals to reach the finals of the tournament for the fifteenth time.

Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech scored the only goal that secured Blues hard-fought victory.

Chelsea lined up with Timo Werner, Mason Mount, and Hakim Ziyech in the attack; Ngolo Kante, Joginho, Reece James and Ben Chillwel in midfield and Antonio Rudiger, Thiago Silva and Cesar Azpilicueta in defence and Kepa Arrizabalaga in goal.

Manchester City missed the services of Sergio Aguero but brought in Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus, Ferran Torress in attack. Kevin Be Bruyne lined up with Rodri and Fernandinho in midfield. The Belgian left the pitch after sustaining an ankle injury at the beginning of the second half.

Chelsea became unlucky after Hakim Ziyech scored after receiving cut back passes from Timo Werner, but the goal was ruled for an offside. The Moroccan then made up for the hitch with a goal before another goal by substitute Christian Pulisic was also ruled offside.

Chelsea will play either Southampton or Leicester City on May 15, 2021, in the FA Cup final.
