Chelsea and Real Madrid recorded a 1-1 draw at the mouthwatering semifinal tie of Uefa Champions League match on Tuesday night.
Real Madrid missed the services of Lucas Vasquez and Sergio Ramos who were sidelined with injuries. Ex-Chelsea talisman Eden Hazard started off the bench and made no remarkable impact and played well after lengthy injury spell.
Chelsea had the opportunity to take the lead when Christian Pulisic headed a ball towards Timo Werner but the German squandered the chance, shooting the ball towards Thibaut Courtois who made an exemplary save.
Minutes later before first half, Antonio Rudiger picked up Pulisic with a long ball. This time, the American opted to go solo and fired a shot past Real Madrid defenders just from the bpx to give the Blues the lead.
The Los Blancos came into the game as Marcelo had the ball more to drive in the left flank.
Kari, Benzema then pounced on a second ball, when Raphael Varane headed from Marcelo’s cross. The Frenchman scored an acrobatic bicycle goal from the box to level scores.
Both defences held firm and the scores ended 1-1 with all to play for in the second leg of the tie.
