The curtain fell on the English Premier League 2020/2021 season with teams staging last-minute battles for European spots.
Liverpool won 2-1 against Crystal Palace to leapfrog Chelsea from the third position. Chelsea fell short with a shoddy performance in a 2-1 defeat against Aston Villa.
However, the Blues maintained a fourth-place finish thanks to a stellar show by their London rivals Tottenham Hotspurs who hammered Leicester City 4-2.
At the end of it, Liverpool and Chelsea qualified for next season’s Uefa Champions League while Leicester City and West Ham United are destined for Europa League.
Elsewhere, Manchester City pumped five goals past Everton. Outgoing striker Sergio Aguero grabbed a brace to pen his name in the history books as the player with most goals for a single club in the English league.
Tottenham striker Harry Kane claimed the golden boot after finishing top in the scoring chart, while Man City goalkeeper Ederson Moraes won the golden glove for most clean sheets.
