Kiir relieves two state ministers, advisor in NBS

President Salva Kiir has relieved the Northern Bahr el Ghazal State Minister of Information Abraham Wol Akom, Minister of Education Valentino Achak Deng and Advisor on Legal Affairs Arkanjelo Athian Teng Angok in a Republican Decree broadcasted on the state-owned media South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC) on Tuesday.

In another decree, President Kiir appointed William Anyuon Kuol as the new State Minister of Information, Bol Akok as the new State Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries with no replacement for the position of the advisor.

However, no reason was given for the removal of the officials.

When asked, the national Minister of Information Michael Makuei Lueth, who doubles up as Government Spokesperson, said the officials were relieved following the recommendations of the State Governor, Tong Aken Ngor.

On October 8, 2021, the Governor of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State Tong Aken Ngor met with President Kiir in the State House in Juba and briefed him on the situation in the state.

Governor Ngor briefed President Kiir on the progress of road and developmental projects as well as the security situation in the state.
