Arsenal bounced back to triumph over 10-man Tottenham Hotspurs at the Emirates on Sunday evening.
The match took time before goals came through and Erik Lamela broke the deadlock with a memorable finish after 33 minutes of play to put the visitors infront.
But Arsenal new boy Martin Odegaard responded with a leveller in the 44th minute, just before half-time, giving Arsenal a lifeline in the game.
Spurs suffered in the second half after Davidson Sanchez gave away a penalty enabling Alexandre Lacazette to score from the spot and put the hosts in front.
Lamela having starred in the game after replacing injured Heung-ming Son picked a second yellow after fouling Kieran Tierney. His sending off left Spurs one man less but it didn’t dim the fight by Jose Mourinho.
Arsenal defence and goal keeper Bern Leno were put to the test by resilient Spurs attack which kept knocking at their door despite having the numerical advantage. But Mikel Arteta’s boys held firm to see out the game on 2-1 win.
