The SPLM-IG has said the party is working on a formula to appease the disgruntled individuals who failed to make it to the list of members of the Reconstituted Transitional National Assembly. The SPLM-1G acting secretary-general for administration and finance, Peter Lam Both, told a local radio station that 30 former legislators had registered complaints for not making the cut, but the situation was being addressed. “There were certain individuals about 30 members, who did not make it to the list. There were complaints that they wanted to come back to the assembly and for that reason the committee [has been] formed by the president to work on the allocation of power sharing to see if they have a fair chance of coming back,” he said, as he responded to questions by the radio station on Friday. He said the delay was on the side of the SPLM and that the committee had finished their work a month ago. “The SPLM has finished [and] what we heard yesterday from the leadership was that the OPP have not completed their list,” he said. This comes as preparations are underway to ensure legislators are sworn into office by latest July 9. Both said in an interview plans are in place to have the nominees inducted even earlier than July 9 which remains the contemporary date.
