A mouth-watering clash between Manchester United and Liverpool has been postponed to an unknown time after fans staged a destructive protest at the Old Trafford Stadium.
UK and US media have reported that dramatic scenes of destructive protest seized the moment barring what promised to be one of the biggest games of the season.
The protesters are demanding that the Glazer family—who own Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Manchester United— should sell the club. The protests have been building up since Manchester United joined the 12 European clubs that signed to form a European Super League which collapsed after clubs walked out on the idea following fan base revolt.
The protesters are reported to have stormed the match venue and destroyed the cameras forcing the Premier League to postpone the match.
The Premier League has not posted about the incident on any of its social media pages after it announced solidarity for social media boycott alongside clubs to protest the peprtration of hate speech on April 30.
Liverpool, the current holding champions, are fighting to finish in the top four to play the Uefa Champions League next season while Manchester United have cemented the European spot in number two.
The Glazers Family bought have owned the club since 2005.
