Liverpool smashes five goals past Man United leaving Solskjaer desperate

Liverpool smashed five goals past a woeful Manchester United on Sunday evening, piling more misery on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s job.

The Red Devils came from a 3-2 win over Serie A side Atalanta in which they laboured and won in the dying minutes of the game thanks to summer acquisition Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, at Old Trafford this evening, it was a different story. The hosts went behind in the fifth minute of the game after Naby Keita struck. Diogo Jota doubled the lead as the visitors capitalized on the Man United’s calamitous defending before the notorious in-form Egyptian attacker Mo Salah assumed the annihilation role.

Salah scored two quick goals ensuring that the game headed to half-time with leaving having a commanding 4-0 lead. In the second half, the Egyptian bagged a fifth for the team and a hat-trick for himself leaving the opponents and supporters red-faced.

France midfielder Paul Pogba saw red leaving the Red Devils to battle in the remaining minutes with numerical disadvantage and an unattractive scoreline.

The defeat throws the future of Ole Gunnar as the club’s manager after having come under criticism in the previous losses to Young Boys.

Liverpool goes to second place after Chelsea with 21 points as Manchester United drops to seventh with 14 points.
