Lukaku’s future in doubt as Chelsea bounces against Liverpool in 2-2 draw

Chelsea fought hard to bounce back from 2-0 down against Liverpool at Stamford to share spoils with Liverpool in a match that was marred by speculations in Chelsea’s dressing room issues.

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku was omitted from the squad after a recent interview he did with Sky sports Italia surfaced, where the Belgian was quoted casting doubts on Thomas Tuchel’s tactics.

Sadio Mane broke the deadlock in the ninth minute to put the Reds forwards, and it was only a matter of 15 minutes before Mohamed Salah doubled the lead in the 26th minute.

Chelsea bounced back through Mateo Kovacic’s volley that hit the bar and slid in to make it 2-1. Christian Pulisic then received a pass from Ngolo Kante to level things up before the break.

The game ended 2-2 as the teams shared points.

It exposed the tense atmosphere at Stamford Bridge after Tuchel was forced to drop Lukaku over comments adjudged to be undermining the club.
