South Sudan crushed out at the quarterfinals of the AfroBasket 2021 tournament in Rwanda after penning a slim defeat of 65-80 against a strong side of Tunisia.
The boys went into the game full of hopes and confidence after defeating Kenya 60-58 on the group stage. The team recorded a comfortable win of 15-14 in the opening quarter before finishing with a slim defeat of 25-26 in the second quarter of the game. The boys went into half-time with levelled scores of 40. In the second half, things turned worse with defeats of 11-23 and 14-17 making the game to be beyond reach.
The Thursday evening match was the second loss for the team, after getting a win against ineligible Cameroon in the opening fixture, losing to Rwanda in the second game and finally winning against Kenya in the group stage.
