Central Equatoria State Minister for Roads and Bridges, Hon. Clement Maring Samuel, has presented a memo to the Council of Ministers suggesting for the diversion and beautification of sections of some roads around Juba International Airport.

‎‎“The proposal seeks to provide alternative public routes to ease traffic flow and enhance drainage systems as well as allow effective operation of routes around the airport. The cabinet agreed to adjourn this matter for more deliberation in the next sitting,” said Hon. Nyarsuk Patrick, the State Minister of Information and Communication.

‎‎The meeting also examined the ongoing road demarcation exercise in the Lokwilili/Timondi area of Juba, clarifying that such activities fall under the mandate of the State Ministry of Housing, Land and Public Utilities in coordination with Juba County authorities.

‎‎On the security situation, Hon. Patrick reported that peace and stability prevail across most parts of the State, apart from a few isolated incidents, while reaffirming the government’s commitment to restoring lasting peace and security.

Meanwhile, the Council also considered a memo from Hon. Salah Rajab Bunduki, Minister of Finance, Planning and Investment, on the transfer of land ownership of selected State institutions to the State Investment Authority/Corporation.

However, after deliberations, the cabinet resolved to defer the memo to the next sitting for further discussion.
