Are we under a divine curse or Satanism?
From road ambushes to natural disasters, South Sudan’s security and humanitarian conditions falter. And, no one is taking the responsibilities.

In Deuteronomy 7:26, we are told that the Israelites were told not to bring hateful or cursed things into the house.

In Joshua 6, the children of Israel were warned about taking plunder from Jericho and the injunction Achan violated.

The people then became the object of God’s judgment because of Achan’s disobedience. The curses became genuine on them.

There are divine curses which is a synonym for divine judgment from God and also Satanic curses.

In our current situation in South Sudan, sometimes it makes one ask him or herself whether we have been placed under God’s curses or Satanic because there are so many unbelievable things taking place in the country, which most of us have decided to embrace as part of daily lives.

People have resorted to killing each other without fearing God. They behave like they are the creators of the universe and the lives in it.

Just imagine! If you are not cursed, how dare you shoot at innocent travelers, including nuns – the ones anointed by God Himself?

The curses touch the life of every person. We also believe that if these curses are not broken, they are passed down from generation to generation indefinitely. Thus, you may suffer from a curse placed upon you by your ancestors.

You may be plagued with one or more curses, and that until these curses are broken you can expect all sorts of serious problems in your lives.

The current conflict in the country has brought a lot of curses on the innocent who are made to suffer for what they don’t benefit from.

The self-interest and power-centered politics being practiced by some of our leaders have brought a lot of suffering and curses on citizens.

A few of the indications that someone lives under curses include mental and emotional breakdowns, chronic illnesses, miscarriages, and accident-prone. We are experiencing so many of these indications of curses in our society today.

We have cases of unknown gunmen killing travelers along the roads, there are crocodiles, pythons/snakes biting people as weird diseases also burn their ways through our communities where hatred has culminated into sub-national and inter-communal clashes.

We have some rare occurrences in the country that sometimes you may not believe but they are real stories.

We have cases of crocodiles terrorizing people in Mangalla Payam of Juba County in Central Equatoria State and three children so far have been eaten in Mangalla.

Also, we hear of people being eaten in Warrap and Lakes States. Sometimes one asks himself whether we are under divine curses or Satanism?

All is not lost whatsoever. We have ways of rectifying the problems that may be causing our dear country issues.

First, the government has obligations to meet from the national level to the grassroots. Secondly, the citizens must also ensure that they are safer and they help the government to sort out their problems: be they socio-political or economic.
