SSFA, Zain join hands to support football

The South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) and Zain Telecommunication Company have agreed to cooperate to improve football in the country.

The agreement was reached during a meeting held between SSFA deputy chairperson of the Marketing and Investment Committee Albino Kuek and Ahmed Hussain Director of Marketing Department at Zain Telecommunication Network in Juba yesterday.

In a statement to the media, Albino Kuek said the meeting focused on key areas of partnership between the two institutions. 

Mr Kuek described the meeting as fruitful, adding that it had touched on collaboration between SSFA and Zain sponsorship of the national teams and competitions organized by SSFA. 

“Zain has promised to support SSFA in its quest to develop football in the country,” he said. 

He reiterated SSFA’s pledge to work closely with Zain to achieve positive goals in the area of football development in the country. 

Kuek urged other private companies to follow in the footsteps of Zain to render the same support to South Sudan through sponsoring sports activities. 

Mr Ahmed Hussain, Director of Marketing Department at Zain Telecommunication Network said it was a great day for his group to discuss ways of promoting football activities in the country. 

He said one of the corporate social responsibilities of Zain was to give back to the community. 

“Our company is ready to cooperate with SSFA towards the development of football in the country through supporting football activities and we will do whatever, we can to help our communities,” he promised.

The meeting was attended by Wiyuol Lam, SSFA Chairperson for the Competitions Committee and Mr Joseph Arkangelo Apai, the Deputy Secretary-General of SSFA.
