The country’s football federation has confirmed that the 2022 South Sudan Cup competitions will be played in three zones.

The tournament, which is set to start on January 20, 2022, will be played in three zones in Wau, the capital city of Western Bahr el Ghazal State (WBGS), Juba zone two of Central Equatoria State (CES), and Renk zone three.

Twenty clubs are expected to participate in this year’s competition from different local football associations.

According to the South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) organising committee chairperson, Wiyual Lampuoch, the board members have approved the participation of 20 clubs and have also grouped them into three zones.

“The SSFA board members have approved the teams that will take part in this year’s South Sudan Cup. There are three zones, which we have categorised as zone one, two, and three. Zone one will be played in Wau, zone two will be in Juba, and zone three will be played in Renk, ” he revealed.

The chairperson further added that the draw for the fixtures will be done on Monday, January 10, 2022.

Below are the zones and teams in each zone.

In zone one (Wau), eight teams are involved.

Mading Acheing FC of the Abyei Local Football Association (ALFA), Black Eagles FC Aweil and Malual Bol FC-Kanyjok of the Aweil LFA, Al Bugah FC of the Raja Local Football Association (R-LFA), Zalan FC of the Rumbek Local Football Association (RLFA), Al Hilal FC of the Wau Local Football Association (WLFA), Majak Amall FC-Kaujok and Genyanyuon FC-Tonj of the

Nine clubs are involved in zone two (Juba).

Bentiu Olympic FC, from Bentiu Local Football Association (BLFA), Supper Stars FC, from Bor Local Football Association (Bor-LFA), Amarat United FC-Juba and Weheda FC-Terekeka, both from Juba Local Football Association (JLFA), Malakia FC-Torit and Jebel Koteen FC-Kapoeta from Torit Local Football Association (TLFA), Yambio Star FC-Yambio and Nasiry FC-Mundri from Yambio Local Football Association (YLFA) and Easter FC from Yei Local Football Association (Y-LFA).

Zone three will be played in (Renk) and only three clubs are involved.

Tahrir FC of the Malut Local Football Association (M-LFA), Jikmir FC of the Nasir Local Football Association (N-LFA), and Qadiasia FC of the Renk Local Football Association (R-LFA) completed the tournament.
