General Education Ministry releases 2025 S4 results, with 80.7% pass rate

Male candidates slightly outperfom their female counterparts, with a pass rate of of 81% to the 79.2% respectively; with Darling Wisdom Academy dominating the top

The Ministry of General Education and Instruction on Tuesday released the 2025 Senior Four results, announcing an improved pass rate of 80.7%, as Darling Wisdom Academy dominated the top.

The Certificate of Secondary Education (CSE) examinations, whose results were announced after President Salva Kiir’s clean bill of health, were conducted between December 1 and December 9, 2025; in 521 secondary schools across the country.

Speaking during the release of the results, the Minister of General Education and Instruction, Dr. Kuyok Abol Kuyok, said out of 45,776 students who sat for the exams, about 36,950 candidates successfully passed.

The minister revealed that male candidates slightly outperfomed their female counterparts, recording a pass rate of 81 percent compared to 79.2% respectively.

Meanwhile, subjects including Christian Religious Education, Agriculture, and Biology recording improvements; while General Science, Citizenship, and Commerce recorded weak performance.

“The examinations were conducted between the 1st and 9th of December, 2025, with a total of 46,153 candidates; 26,768 males and 19,385 females registered for the examinations. However, only 46,776 candidates, which were 26,532 males and 19,244 females, sat for the examinations,” the education minister said.

He added that 377 of the registered candidates failed to sit for the examinations.

“In terms of performance, out of all the candidates that attempted the exams in the academic, technical and commercial sections, 36,950 candidates (21,606 males and 15,344 females passed the exams), with an overall pass rate of 80.7%. Male candidates performed slightly better than their female candidates,” added Dr Abol.

Exam irregularities

In term of examination irregularities, the Council nullified results of one school namely, Nimule Model Secondary School in Eastern Equatoria State. The school, whose candidates were 87, faced the axe over what the ministry described as serious breach of examination rules and regulations.

The Council also awarded zero scores to 23 other candidates for the same cheating case.

Among the top ten performing candidates, Maduet Mangong Maduet from Darling Wisdom Academy Secondary School, Pentagon Campus ranked first nationally, with an aggregate score of 88.9 percent in the Arts section.

Malual Aluong Riak ranked second with an aggregate score of 88.5 percent in the Science section at the same school (Darling Wisdom, Patagon Campus). Four candidates shared the third position. They include: Kenyi Lado Lawon, with an aggregate of 88.3 percent in Science, from the Juba Integrated High School; Manyang Machot Lony (88.3 percent) Darling Wisdom Academy Secondary School; Marial Alier Garang (88.3 percent) and Omiyang William Mario (Darling Wisdom).  

Meanwhile, tenth position was shared by Arech Atem Deng of Legacy Global Academy Secondary School, Peter Kur Geu of Darling Wisdom Academy Secondary School’s Pentagon Campus, and Teresa Ayen Maker of Darling Wisdom Academy’s Nana Campus, each scoring 87.3%. The results highlighted Darling Wisdom’s dominance, with the school taking up ten out of 13 top positions.

For the top ten female candidates, Nyaduok Chuol Dep of Darling Wisdom ranked first nationally, with an aggregate score of 88.0 percent in Sciences, Awur Madol Anyuat also from the same school (Darling Wisdom) ranked second, with 87.6 percent in Science.

In the technical section, Mary Kujang Joseph ranked first with 81.1%, followed by Matiok Deng Matiok with 79.8%, Wani Richard Zakaria with 79.1%, Alfred Loputo Cosmas with 79.0%, and Martha Mario Wani and Michael Tangun Justin, who jointly placed fifth with 78.1%.

In the commercial section, James Morbe Lado emerged as the top candidate with 73.6%. He was followed by Dominic Odom Felix with 70.8%, Victoria Sitima Thomas with 70.4%, Noel Felix Emmanuel with 70.1% and Christina Foni Tombek with 69.4%.
